  • CONFERENCE 2021 CANCELLED & MOVED TO 2023. CONFERENCE IN MONCTON, NB 2022 IS ON!

    January 15, 2021

After much discernment, conversation, consultation and prayer, the ATRI Board of Directors has decided to cancel the 2021 Montreal Conference and move it to 2023.  A  discussion was held with the hotel management in Montreal and they suggested, because of the uncertainty of how Covid-19 will play out, that this would be the best way to proceed at this time.  They and we realize that even if the virus is contained and/or a vaccine becomes available that it may take some time for people to feel comfortable in travelling again to this city.

HOWEVER…..THE CONFERENCE IN MONCTON, NB WILL TAKE PLACE IN 2022.It is our plan to hold our Conference at the Delta Beausejour from September 23-26, 2022.

    Thursday, February 11, 2021  9:00 am - 1:30 pm EST

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Ottawa Region Charity & NFP Law Seminar goes virtual this year in more ways than one. First, the seminar will be held as a webinar so you can participate from the comfort and safety of your office or home. Second, this year's focus will include legal issues that charities and not-for-profits are facing while operating virtually, given the impact of the pandemic. Each topic will be approximately 20 minutes in length, including Q&A, so the webinar will be presented in 2 two-hour modules starting at 9:00 am and finishing at 1:30 pm. EST.

The special speakers this year will be The Honourable Ratna Omidvar, C.M., O.Ont., Senator for Ontario and Former Deputy Chair of the Special Senate Committee on the Charitable Sector, as well as Tony Manconi, Director General of the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency.
